Digital Playground Welcomes Kay Brandt to Creative Team

VAN NUYS, Calif. — Digital Playground has announced Kay Brandt as the newest member of its creative development team.

The company said Brandt is a 20-year, film industry professional with a multi-faceted background in business, development and production. She owned a theatre company in Los Angeles, created and developed interactive concepts for major mainstream film studios, produced independent features with A-List directors and was the head of acquisitions for the media division of a venture capital firm.

In 2009, she was offered the opportunity to become the lead writer/director for adult film company Girlfriends Films. Having a passion for true erotica and quality adult filmmaking, working with the company gave her first-hand experience in the art of making premium niche products and not simply adult films.

"I couldn’t be more excited about finally getting to work exclusively for the incredible filmmaker, Joone and brilliant business woman, Samantha Lewis," Brandt said.

"After more than a decade of me and Joone seeking out mutual projects to work on together, we’ve found a great opportunity to actually make it happen. The timing was perfect for both of us. I’m getting to work for a great friend with great vision. He supports and yet challenges me to constantly go further with the creative process and innovate. Digital Playground is an evolving company filled with wonderful and talented people. Robby D. is an awesome one to write for and I look forward to directing in the future as well. I feel very fortunate to be here."

Digital Playground founder and director, Joone is equally pleased with the creative team expansion.

"We are expecting big things from Kay Brandt," he said. "Her stellar reputation in both the mainstream and adult film world precedes her."

Brandt has already completed several feature scripts and her first project will be released in January 2011.

“Kay Brandt has produced some incredible work for other studios and her contributions will only increase the mass appeal of the Digital Playground brand," Digital Playground CEO Samantha Lewis said.
